很多人以為此曲是Harry Nilsson原唱，其實此曲並非其作，亦非 Air Supply 或 Mariah Carey，而是音樂製作公司Apple Corp 旗下一隊英國搖滾樂隊 Badfinger 於1971年所出，但當時此曲並不流行，更不幸是此曲的作曲作詞者亦先後自殺身亡，更是可惜，而樂隊亦於1975年解散了！

此曲之所以流行是因 Harry Nilsson 於1971年將其重新編曲翻唱，更於1972年在英美各大歌曲流行榜俱名列前茅，奪得佳績，Without You 一曲至今已被翻唱數十個版本以上，Mariah Carey 翻唱版本更被列為世上最佳經典情歌。
